Big ‘n’ blousy or small ‘n’ subtle, whatever you fancy begonias have it all! I love growing begonias because they are easy, good in sun or shade, great fillers, come in a wide variety of colours and, most of all, are beautiful! I’m always amazed when I receive a tray of begonia plug plants from Thompson & Morgan that these tiny plants soon become abundant and beautiful with their lush green leaves and superb flowers. That’s the great thing about Thompson & Morgan, they take away the tedious part of germinating the seed and provide excellent quality plug plants which you pot on; once they get going it’s not long before you have a stunning display in your pots and hanging baskets.

It only takes 4 or 5 plants in large pot and you be surprised at how well they fill out, therefore great value for money!

They are perfect for our climate, they don’t mind the rain and love the sun; they’re not needy plants, water and feed them and off they go, rewarding you with the amazing blooms – picotees, solids, doubles, semperflorens with masses of small flowers and tuberous with fantastic wow factor blooms, and they just keep flowering ALL summer long. My begonias were still going strong into October with no sign of giving up and I didn’t have any problems with pests or diseases, so begonias are a real all-round winner for me.

And the best thing of the all about begonias is you can save the corms at the end of the season, and they’ll be bigger & better for next year! Hurrah!
